Baccarat

Rising Phoenix Baccarat plays the same way as regular mini-baccarat except that it replaces the taking of the commission on every winning Bank wager by “barring” one specific winning Bank hand (the winning Bank hand consisting of three cards and totaling seven points). The appearance of this hand is the “Sun 7”. It is played with eight (8) standard decks of 52 cards.

Rising Phoenix Baccarat

Rising Phoenix Baccarat plays the same way as regular mini-baccarat except that it replaces the taking of the commission on every winning Bank wager by “barring” one specific winning Bank hand (the winning Bank hand consisting of three cards and totaling seven points). The appearance of this hand is the “Sun 7”. It is played with eight (8) standard decks of 52 cards.

The object of the game is to have the highest total point count hand, the highest possible total point count being 9. Face cards and ten value cards have a point count value of 0, aces have a point count value of 1, deuces have a point count value of 2, and so on. The card’s point values are summed and the total point count of the hand is the right digit of that sum (for example, a hand consisting of a King, a 4 and a 7 has a total point count of 1).

With Rising Phoenix Baccarat, players have the option to wager on any combination of “Player”, “Banker”, “Tie”, “Sun 7” and “Moon 8”. The “Sun 7” wager pays odds of 40 to 1 when a three card winning Banker hand totaling 7 points occurs. And the “Moon 8” wager pays odds of 25 to 1 when a three card winning player hand totaling 8 points occurs.

THE GAME

The game begins when four (4) cards are dealt alternately from the shoe. First card to the Player, second card to the Bank, third to the Player and fourth to the Bank. If the point count of either hand is 8 or 9, it is called a “natural” and no additional cards are drawn. If the Bank does not have a natural, the Player will always draw a third card on totals of 0-1-2-3-4 and 5 and stand with 6-7-8 and 9. The cards are dealt according to fixed rules. There are no options regarding drawing the third card for either Player’s or Banker’s hand. No more than one additional card will be drawn to each hand. The hand closest to 9 wins and shall be paid at odds of 1 to 1.

If both the Player’s hand and the Banker’s hand result in identical totals, it is a tie and neither hand wins or loses.

These charts describe the fixed rules governing the drawing of additional cards.
